June E. (Bowman) Sodders, 86, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, August 25, 2010 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
She was born February 18, 1924 in Bradford, daughter of the late Cleo and Nora (Wade) Loxley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roscoe Bowman on September 16, 1982; her second husband, Harry Sodders on July 6, 1995.
June helped her first husband with the family grocery in Bradford. She later worked as a cashier at Troutwine’s Super Value in Greenville and then as a clerk at The Card Shop in Greenville until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her three sons who were the most important thing in her life, she made a comment once “I’ll take any pain God gives me if he just doesn’t take my boys from me”. With her sons are three wonderful daughters –in-laws; Randall (Rhonda) Bowman, Regan (Sue) Bowman, and Rhys (Pam) Bowman all of Greenville; step children, Richard (Debbie) Sodders of Greenville, Connie Santee of South Carolina and Beth (Tom) Harmon of South Carolina; 9 precious grandchildren, Julie (Jason) Willis, Tiffany (Jeremy) Fine, Heather (Lance) Riegle, Heidi (Tate) Sutton, Holli, Brett and Haley Bowman and Amanda and Natalie Bowman; 7 adorable great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great grandchildren; and her precious dog, Honey B.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28 at the First United Methodist Church in Greenville with Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Friday from 5-8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First United Methodist Church Capital Campaign Fund.
